Your first 12.

Start with one room and three things you want on record. Keep only the suggestions you own. A few useful records are enough to begin.

Choose up to two rooms and twelve belongings, then print your list. No account or email. This list is a plan to add records yourself in HomeTally.

Make it yours.

A starting suggestion is selected. Change it to fit your home.

01 Choose up to two rooms

Removing a room also removes its selected belongings.

02 Keep the things you own

Choose up to twelve. You can start with fewer.

Work through one room at a time

Take a wide photo to help remember the room, then create a separate record for belongings whose details you want to retrieve later. Add a photo and a name first. Return for model numbers and purchase records when you have them.

Save the details you will want later

  • A clear photo, a useful name, and the room.
  • Brand, model number, and serial number when available.
  • Purchase date, purchase price, and a note about where you bought it.
  • Condition and your own current value estimate.
  • Receipt attachments and warranty dates if you use Premium.

Example notes might say “Bought with the house in June” or “Receipt is in the moving folder.” Mark unknown details as unknown and come back to them. Photo suggestions and value estimates need your review.

For appliances, use the guide to model numbers, receipts, and warranties.

Keep your inventory accessible

A record stored only on your phone may be unavailable if that phone is lost or damaged. Consider optional Premium iCloud Sync and a separate PDF copy. Check records on a replacement phone before erasing the original. A PDF cannot be imported to restore HomeTally.

Use the preservation guide to choose your next step.

An inventory can help you organize information. It does not establish insurance coverage, replace an appraisal, or guarantee a claim outcome. Ask your insurer which records it needs.
